About Me: Sarah Desmond
﷽
Dear friend, 🖤🖤 Whatch your step there. I don't want you to stumble on stones made of clouds. How are you doing? Come... come and sit right here. Wrap yourself in this warm blanket I knitted out of hopes and dreams just to keep your soul warm. Here, drink some of this giggling hot chocolate.
There, now that you're all settled, I pray that in Whatever state you find yourself, I hope you feel welcomed here in my little world. More than you may realize, your world and mine are intricately connected. There is also so much to me as there is to you that it feels rather bizarre to only scrape the surface. But we have to start somewhere on this journey to getting to know each other.
Here, through my art, you begin to learn me. I'm a goofy yet solemn gal interested in the human experience. I wonder what lies in the depths of the intricate ever-evolving puzzle that is human being. I explore the animalistic sides of the soul, the darker sides. I'm curious about death, birth, pre-existence, life, and afterlife. I also write about things I believe in like angels, jinns, prophets, relationships, love, revelation, repentance, resurrection, and of course, Allah.
If there's one thing that I carry with me wherever I go, it's the fervent bond I have with my Creator. And in today's secular society that seems to mock such a relationship, I stand confidently in my belief. This belief saved me in my shattered-ness since childhood. I may not know the details of this world. I may not know right from wrong. I sometimes mistake the light for dark and the dark for light. However, Allah has always and (God-willing) will always be in my heart.
When I'm not writing I enjoy spending time with family; painting mainly galaxies, mountains, oceans, and clouds (not in this order); kayaking in calm or raging waters; sitting near the sea with toes in the sand; reading physical books; having deep conversations; scooting around on a scooter in the twilight; rollerblading for days; cooking Malaysian dishes or experimenting in the kitchen; and last but not least, I enjoy eating a variety of delicious foods.
Thank you for reading. Stick around. You may even sleep over if you would like. And when you are ready to take your leave, please know you are always welcome back, no matter how many times you've gone out adventuring. And no matter where you are, may you always find peace.
Xo,
Sarah Desmond
P.S. Leave a comment sharing a bit about yourself if you'd like! I'd like for the experience here to be interactive! I also love to laugh, so if you have a silly anecdote to share, please do! ^_^
